Finally, something that's not a painting. There may be hope for Detroit yet.

Ironing board? I was thinking that I want to put my computer on it. That or something a little more risque which also involves the computer room, or the kitchen, or the living room floor, the diningroom table...etc. Seriously speaking...it is quite beautiful. (though not quite as nice as the livingroom floor!) ;)

If that's a steering wheel, I love it. Otherwise I'd have to spend some time with the physical thing to find out.

take a look at gerrit rietveldt, joseph wesner, max davis, diego giacometti, etc., art/furniture/art.

lots of works of art are not paintings, not sculpture, combining issues of functionability + beauty.

there are a lot of other names I could mention, but am having a hard time right now recalling them because of a senior moment.

pardon.

kem's work is very intriguing to me

thanks for the kind words, especially from leoqueen.

it does kind of have an ironing board kind of proportion eh? lol. someone at the DAM thought it was a bench this past january and almost broke it.

The piece of tiger striped maple that makes up the top was found in my grandfather's shop, I learned a lot from that guy and this was kind of a tribute to him
