The Mitote

I am really interested in the universal symbolism of this painting and its component.
The voices overlay one another and create a jelly fish or man-a-war like shape. With the ghosty like look to the speech bubbles are these conscious or non-conscious shared voices.

Is there an underlying common consciusness that united us all?

Taurus again great job with this one, if you are in detroit get off the fucking couch and go see this show. Detroit Artist Market

"the mitote:
the chaos of a thousand different voices all trying to be heard at once in the mind."

I think it's about polution polluting the masses with a yellow cloud. Is this correct?

whats up taurus
you know the mitote of course is looking like a thought bubble, as if mass thought was chaos itself,

yeah! when i was painting this.. i was thinking about the chorus of voices that revolve around the self, and define yet obscure some central self... while also having awareness of a kind of energy created by a collective voice .. and imagining what this would look like. each individual voice contributes to the identity of the whole yet when they're all proclaiming their existence at once there is chaos. it's quite beautiful really~

I really enjoy this piece. I love the speech, thought, pollution and/or chorus bubble interweaving with itself to create an entity of its own. There is so many ways that one could interprete this and i like how it leaves it open to the viewer to create its meaning based on issues of their own concerns, within the realm of community.
